Supporting communities
We’re committed to delivering a clean energy future that benefits everyone.
As a certified B Corporation, we changed our Articles of Association in 2020 so that we are legally required to consider the impact on all stakeholders, including local communities, when making business decisions.
In addition to working with community energy groups and supporting local jobs, we’re on a mission to bring as many people as possible with us on the journey to net zero. Together we can tackle the climate emergency.
Enabling community ownership
Through our award-winning funding, we enable communities to take ownership of their local energy projects. We have already invested over £20 million into community-led wind and solar projects and are always looking to empower more people to take control of energy at the source.
Community Benefit Programme
Our voluntary nationwide scheme provides energy efficiency advice, funding and training for community buildings close to our projects.
Engagement days
We help educate and raise awareness about renewable energy through school and university visits, as well as public open days.
